Cardona hat is a small celebration of Malabrigo Rios times beauty. Clever geometric pattern created by knit and purl stitches, plus single cable crossings cover this hat in a subtle rhythm, creating trendy, unisex accessory.
SIZE: one size fits most adults
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 17”(43cm) circumference & 12”(30.5cm) long
YARN: 1 hank of Malabrigo Rios; Pure Merino Superwash; 210yd; 100g/3.5oz
NEEDLES: US5 (3.75mm) & US7 (4.5mm) 16” (41cm) circular needles each & set of five US7 (4.5mm) double-pointed needles (dpns), OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
NOTIONS: cable needle, 6 stitch markers, tapestry needle
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate: Students need to know how to cast on in around, “knit”, “purl”, “yarn over” and basic “cable” stitches
Class Overview

3 hour class.

This class attention is focused on learning how to read charts (no worries, written instructions are included!)

Students will learn a few ways how to do a single cable crossing without use of a cable needle.

Students will be shown steam-blocking technique applicable to this design

Students will be shown multiple samples of Cardona hat design in an array of fibers and colors as inspirational pieces for future projects.

Printed pattern (4 pages with written instructions and chart) included in class.
PRE-CLASS HOMEWORK

Prior to class, students will need to: with smaller circular needle (US5 (3.75mm) 16” (41cm) circular needle) and using German Twisted Cast On, CO 96 sts. Place marker and join to work in the round, being careful not to twist sts. Rnd 1: * k1, p6, k1; rep from * around. Repeat Rnd 1 of ribbing pattern for 2” (5cm).
Class policies:
Enrollment: Class is limited to 8 people unless approved by the instructor. Enrollment must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the first class to ensure there is a space for you. (And to confirm your lunch order – menu options will be sent by email one week before the class). You can sign up in the store, online, or by phone (817)731-5044.
Cancellations:
If you need to cancel your class registration, you will be issued store credit for the class amount if you give us a week or more notice. If given less than a week and we can fill your spot in the knitting class, you will be issued store credit for the class amount.
If there are less than 4 students in a class, the class may be cancelled one day prior and store credit will be issued for the class fee.
Missed Classes:
Missed single classes cannot be made up or credited towards a future class.
