The 9th Annual Olive Knits 4 Day Knit Along is called Astro Pop
Astro Pop was inspired by summer – with a nod to Mid-Century Modern style. Think: Atomic Ranch, Palm Springs, the Jetsons, and colorful popsicles on a summer day. This tee is an invitation to mix and match different colors, yarns, and fiber types to create your own cheerful summer style. Astro Pop (Ravelry Link) is perfect for spring, summer evenings, or for layering in cooler weather – it’s truly an all season design that you can wear year-round. And don’t worry – you DON’T have to knit it in four days. Why is it called a “4 day KAL”? Construction
This lightweight, short-sleeve tee is knit top-down in the round (in one seamless piece). It features a circular yoke – with short row shaping along the back neckline for a comfortable fit. The vintage zig-zag details are worked with a needle two sizes larger to balance the gauge with the stockinette stitch. When the yoke is completed, it’s separated from the sleeves, and the lower body is worked in the round to the bottom edge. The sleeves are worked last.

You’ll need DK or Sport Weight Yarn. Three Colors (one primary, one secondary, one accent).
For this year’s Olive Knits 4 Day Knit Along: Astro Pop, we have chosen our West 7th Wool Half & Half DK yarn base. Half & Half is 50% fine superwash merino (21 Micron) and 50% Pima cotton.
