Join designer Alexandra Davidoff for a day of fun and create a true art piece from the pages of Vogue Knitting Magazine. This design was inspired by the majestic Drogon from Game of Thrones. Heavily textured, three-dimensional accessory with a multiple ways of wearing it. This project takes about 900+ yards of sport weight yarn, or fingering weight yarn – just adjust the needle sizes. This design would work well in solid, tonal, or splash yarns.
SIZE: one size
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 32”(81cm) circumference at the widest part & about 15”(38cm) long
YARN: 3 skeins of sport weight yarn or 200g, or about 900 yards of fingering weight yarn
NEEDLES: Bring circular needles in a few sizes (the instructor will help find a perfect match for your yarn: US 2 – US 4 24”(61cm) circular needle, US 3 set of 2 double-pointed needles, or OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
NOTIONS: cable needle, 14 stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors
Class Overview

Alexandra will help each student to pick the right yarn and needles to obtain gauge for this project. (You are always welcome to use yarn from your stash).

Students will learn “dragon scale” pattern, tassel unit and special technique for blocking this design, which is a crucial for creating this 3D texture
- The printed pattern (4 pages with photos, written instructions and charts) and two large wooden beads for tassel unit will be provided.

Students need to know how to cast on, “knit” and “purl”, basic cable and “eyelet” stitch
- Lunch will be provided. The shop will contact you via email or phone to take your lunch order the day before class.
Class policies:
Enrollment: Class is limited to 12 people unless approved by the instructor. Enrollment must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the first class to ensure there is a space for you. (And to confirm your lunch order – menu options will be sent by email one week before the class). You can sign up in the store, online, or by phone (817)731-5044.
Cancellations:
If you need to cancel your class registration, you will be issued store credit for the class amount if you give us a week or more notice. If given less than a week and we can fill your spot in the knitting class, you will be issued store credit for the class amount.
If there are less than 8 students in a class, the class may be cancelled one day prior and store credit will be issued for the class fee.
Missed Classes:
Missed single classes cannot be made up or credited towards a future class.
