Cross Stitch on Knits Workshop with Alexandra Davidoff
March 29 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm$30
Registration Deadline: Friday, March 27, 5:00 pm
Instructor: Alexandra Davidoff
Time: 1pm to 4pm
Date: Sunday, March 29, 2020
Skill Level: Intermediate: Students need to know how to “cast on”, “knit”, “purl” and work “yarn over”.
Homework: 9 inch by 9 inch “mesh” pattern swatch (pattern is provided as a separate file) made of cotton, or cotton blend in DK weight in white or cream color.
This workshop is designed to master a NEW technique of applying cross-stitch on top of mesh knitting. It is based on Alexandra’s designs Mia Hat and Rose Cardigan from Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2019 which is featured on a two-page spread as Trending Now: Embroidery on Knits! “If knitting is the canvas, embroidery is the paint. Combining the two fiber arts yields spectacular results”. The concept is to knit a garment, or an accessory and use it as a canvas for cross stitch embroidery on top.
Materials Needed: Stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors. (Yarn for the cross stitch embroidery will be provided by Alexandra).
Enrollment: Class is limited to 10 people unless approved by the instructor. Enrollment must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the first class to ensure there is a space for you. You can sign up in the store, online, or by phone (817)731-5044.
If you need to cancel your class registration, you will be issued store credit for the class amount if you give us a week or more notice. If given less than a week and we can fill your spot in the knitting class, you will be issued store credit for the class amount.
If there are less than 4 students in a class, the class may be cancelled one day prior and store credit will be issued for the class fee.
Missed single classes cannot be made up or credited towards a future class.
