Fiber Prep Workshop – Blending Fibers for Spinning
September 28 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm$45
Registration Deadline: Friday, September 27, 5:00pm
Instructor: Mel Mills
Time: Saturday Afternoon from 1pm to 4pm
Date: September 28
Supplies Included: Various fibers – you will be taking home the fiber that you blend.
Skills Taught: In this class, you’ll learn the basics of color theory, which is crucial to avoid a ‘muddying’ effect when blending colors. Further, we’ll discuss the concepts and practice specific techniques for blending fibers together using a couple of different methods like a blending board and a drum carder. This class gives you exposure to the fiber prep tools without requiring you to purchase them ahead of time — although, we do highly recommend to bring any tools you may have purchased and yet unsure of how to use to this class. Afterwards, you’ll be inspired to make your own unique fiber combinations for spinning and have the confidence to delve deeper into fiber preparation.
Enrollment: Class is limited to 8 people unless approved by the instructor. Payment must be made at time of enrollment to ensure there is a space for you. You can sign up in the store, online, or by phone (817)731-5044.
If you need to cancel your class registration, you will be issued store credit for the class amount if you give us a week or more notice. If given less than a week and we can fill your spot in the knitting class, you will be issued store credit for the class amount.
If there are less than 2 students in a class, the class may be cancelled one day prior and store credit will be issued for the class fee.
