In this workshop\, students will learn the basic techniques to corespinning\, which is the technique for applying fiber around a thread referred to as a core yarn. We will discuss how to choose the direction and ways of laying the fiber over the core to achieve a desired effect. As a bonus\, one 3-4oz batt will be provided per student and additional may be available for purchase at the time of the class. Fiber supplies are limited. A sample core thread will be provided\, but it is highly encouraged to bring other yarns to the workshop to experiment with. Cores could include a strong laceweight mohair\, silk\, cotton\, or wool.
